Here are a few new projects

I created a few altered items over the past weekend (and last night) and wanted to share them with you. The first is an altered frame from Michaels. The frame was only $1.00. I had the paper on hand (daisy bucket-perfect harmony) and the frame is actually painted a light pink I believe. I put dimensionals under the large flower and under the butterflies. The frame didn't come with any glass to hold a picture in. I had every intention of putting a picture in the frame, but I slept on it, and when I awoke, I looked at the frame and instantly knew it needed to be a mirror! I found the 4x4" mirror at my Local Craft Store (LCS) and had some help from a friend to chip away at the back of the frame so it would hold the mirror. I stapled some ribbon to the back to create the hanger and I LOVE IT!!! I'm going to turn it into the fair in the scrapbook category!

Last night I had a free hour (Husband and Son went to a baseball game) so I ran to the LCS and took a gander. I found this paper- Cosmo Cricket-Snorkel and thought it would make a cute frame too. I cut out some of the colored waves and glued them down. I also cut out the whale and sun, and put crystal effects on them to gloss them up. Put them on pop dots and put in one of my favorite pics of Ace! It's now sitting above my monitors in my office at work. Took about 2 1/2 hours to actually create plus 1 hour of shopping time.

Two more layouts I want to share that are also for the fair. The first one is for a new category in the Horticulture department. It's called Aromatherapy, and the pictures are all of my friend (2nd mom) Val's yard. She really has quite the green thumb and I just couldn't take enough pictures of her yard. I wish I could have made a 3 page layout of her garden because these are not all the flowers she has... maybe I'll try to add another page or so. I'm giving her the pages after the fair so she can have a record of her garden from summer 2009. I especially love the bench which adds just a touch of whimsy to the garden.

And last for today is my Zoo layout. The paper and journal tag are Creative Imaginations-Untamed collection. The pictures are from the Phoenix Wildlife World Zoo taken last summer. I love how the page turned out, especially with the cut out giraffe that is mounted on pop dots. Hope you enjoyed today's inspiration and enjoy your day!

New Bo Bunny Papers!!!

Flutter Butter & Little Boo Crew

I am SO in love with Bo Bunny papers lately. I just can't get enough of them. I think I have about 3-4 projects posted on my blog with their papers. I love the paterns, the fact that they're double sided and how they can be used for just about anything! I saw on my RSS feed this morning that Bo Bunny has a new line called Flutter Butter- It's so cute! I just want to run to my LSS and pick it up... except for the fact that they don't have it in stock- yet~ I think this is my favorite sheet- although I pretty much love them all! It's so hard to decide!!!

Now for those of you who have seen the "little monsters" album by Tami Sanders for Daisy Bucket- you'll follow my thought process on this one. Looking at this other new Bo Bunny line called "Little Boo Crew" paper- I'm picturing a "little monsters" type book, covered with felt and all and maybe even cut chipboard shaped... we'll see- but don't you agree- it'd be SO DARLING!

Oh- just one more thought for the day- Bo Bunny is having their first ever Design Team call! I'm on a design team at my LSS Scrap Happens and love it! It's so much fun designing things every month! You should give it a shot too! Entries are due by July 25th so get scrapping!

A much needed weekday break

Yesterday I played hookey from work... it was WONDERFUL!

When I got into work on Monday, a co-worker said "I thought you weren't going to be here Monday-Wednesday". That got me thinking... hmmm well I can't take the whole week off of work, but I could take 1 day off. I thought about it off and on and realized that I am pretty slow at work. (Slow as in, 0 emails in my in box-- weird). SO I checked with my new manager and he was all for it. Yesterday was so relaxing! Ace and I slept in, when we got up, I got him ready and took him to Montessori and then I went to have coffee with my good friend Bethany. It was so nice sitting in my morning 70 degree sun. After, I went home and started Scrapping! Fair entries are due at the end of August, but I wanted to get working on my projects. I've been working on this altered tin for about 2 weeks, so I got that finished. The picture is from my camera phone so it's not the best, but you get the idea.

Then I moved on to my 2-pg LO. I continued to use this Bo Bunny- Alyssa paper, which I just love. Made it more of a blue theme and created a "My Favorite Things" page. Only thing it's missing now is the pictures. As of right now, I would have to say that the "My Favorite Things" LO is going to win BEST OF SHOW at the fair! I won last year which was an amazing feeling since I've only been scrapping for about 2 years, and it was the first time I'd ever entered the fair. Well- once my LO is done, I'll post it here for your enjoyment. I'll even post my inspiration. I know everyone gets their inspiration from different places. Me- well I get my inspiration mostly from other peoples LO's. But I always try to give credit where credit is due... Enjoy your Thursday! (oops, was about to type Wednesday!- hahaha)
