Here are a few new projects

I created a few altered items over the past weekend (and last night) and wanted to share them with you. The first is an altered frame from Michaels. The frame was only $1.00. I had the paper on hand (daisy bucket-perfect harmony) and the frame is actually painted a light pink I believe. I put dimensionals under the large flower and under the butterflies. The frame didn't come with any glass to hold a picture in. I had every intention of putting a picture in the frame, but I slept on it, and when I awoke, I looked at the frame and instantly knew it needed to be a mirror! I found the 4x4" mirror at my Local Craft Store (LCS) and had some help from a friend to chip away at the back of the frame so it would hold the mirror. I stapled some ribbon to the back to create the hanger and I LOVE IT!!! I'm going to turn it into the fair in the scrapbook category!

Last night I had a free hour (Husband and Son went to a baseball game) so I ran to the LCS and took a gander. I found this paper- Cosmo Cricket-Snorkel and thought it would make a cute frame too. I cut out some of the colored waves and glued them down. I also cut out the whale and sun, and put crystal effects on them to gloss them up. Put them on pop dots and put in one of my favorite pics of Ace! It's now sitting above my monitors in my office at work. Took about 2 1/2 hours to actually create plus 1 hour of shopping time.

Two more layouts I want to share that are also for the fair. The first one is for a new category in the Horticulture department. It's called Aromatherapy, and the pictures are all of my friend (2nd mom) Val's yard. She really has quite the green thumb and I just couldn't take enough pictures of her yard. I wish I could have made a 3 page layout of her garden because these are not all the flowers she has... maybe I'll try to add another page or so. I'm giving her the pages after the fair so she can have a record of her garden from summer 2009. I especially love the bench which adds just a touch of whimsy to the garden.

And last for today is my Zoo layout. The paper and journal tag are Creative Imaginations-Untamed collection. The pictures are from the Phoenix Wildlife World Zoo taken last summer. I love how the page turned out, especially with the cut out giraffe that is mounted on pop dots. Hope you enjoyed today's inspiration and enjoy your day!
